I agree which is why I posted this. MJT wanted those "grey area" rules where we could have a good discussion. Frankly, I don't like the answer I posted but that's the way I will rule it because that's what I was told the official interpretation is in my local chapter. My personal preference is to "get it right" even if it looks bad. After we discussed this one at our chapter meeting I make REAL SURE I have a first down before I signal.
