Players receive direct technical fouls. They are allowed two per game and when received they count toward the limit of 5 personal fouls. When a player received 5 personal fouls or 2 direct technical fouls, that player is disqualified.

A head coach can receive a direct technical foul for his/her antics, or can receive an indirect technical foul for the antics of bench personnel (assistant coaches, substitute players, waterboy, etc.) When the coach receives 2 directs or any combination of indirects and directs that add up to 3, then the head coach is disqualified.
