I finally saw a replay of the try. The ball is on the ground, secured by no one when kicked into the linemen.
NF - this is definitely an illegal kick. Casebook 9.7.1A In NF it is not a LOD, as in NCAA. It wouldn't matter since the kick was not going to score, B would decline and play over.
In NCAA, it seems as it is an illegal kick as well, (2-15a), but I cannot find an AR to support this exact senario. Is in in NCAA? It would be 5 yard penalty and LOD, so no points for B, not that it mattered in the outcome. As quickly as that happened, it would be a tough one to get.
