A good, short statement to use in your pregame is "Call in your area, be sure outside of it." In a nutshell, if you are going to call something in your partner's area, you better be right.

As far as getting upset if someone does call in your area, I wouldn't sweat it. We have all been bailed out before by a partner that saw something we didn't. Of course I'm not talking about halfway across the court as you mentioned, but mainly in those gray areas such as the paint or near the FT line extended.
