The penalty for an intentional foul is 2 FT's (unless it happens on a 3-point try- then it's 3 FT's) plus possession. If you gave out 4 FT's, you would be penalizing them twice for the same act. The player fouled intentionally must shoot the FT's unless injured and unable to. There is no limit to the # of intentional fouls a player may commit, except for the 5 total fouls needed for disqualification.
