I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that the penalty flags are pretty costly to buy from a retailer ($7-8each). I've seen some older officials with "older" flags; so I got the idea of trying to make my own. So I got gold rip-stop nylon, some packing tape, and other stuff (total about $12); I ended up making about 8 flags for that price.

So what I want to start is a discussion about other people's attempts (successful or not) in making flags/beanbags. What are the best materials (weights, fabric, etc.) for making these wonderful tools of the trade?
