A few years ago, working a men's game, wearing the navy pants - a buddy split his pants. He spent some time showing off his bright red shorts.
I have extra's of just about everything when I go to a game - it's all in the van.
How could you have handled it better - without going to change? Sounds like you did OK. You acknowledged it, so everyone knew you thought of it as a problem & were not trying to do anything "inappropriate".
