9th Grade girls game. Team A sets ball very close to the net on their 1st hit and the setter uses the 2nd hit to try to pass the ball over the net. As the ball clearly breaks the plane, the blocker puts her hands up and directs the ball down with a clean hit. Before the ball hits the floor ( Team A could not get to the ball to make a play ), Team B blocker who directed the ball down, contacts the net with her hands as she is coming down off her hit. I call a net violation on Team B's blocker. Team B's coach disagrees when I make my explanation that the net violation occurred before the ball touched the floor on Team A's side. Did I make the wrong call? I am a new official in Volleyball and looking to be sure of my decisions.I am sure the net violation occurred before the ball hit the floor.
