Why?????? If the basket is made and there is a foul on a 3 point attempt, you still only get one shot, regardless of whether or not you are in the double bonus.

That is unless, of course, the foul was against a different player than the one shooting or the foul was deemed to have occured after the shooter returned to the floor. This was not clear in your post, but I sincerely hope that is what happened. Otherwise, the wrong team probably won the game.
I'm guessing it was "the big X".
