Last night I worked the county finals for the local CYO
travel league (similar to AAU if you're not familiar).
As I'm putting my shoes on the league director comes to
us and says there's been a lot of trouble with the
fans & coaches of these 2 teams and he doesn't want any
tonight (we've all heard this from these guys, no?).
Then he tells us we have to keep the game under control,
even if it means both teams forfeit and he sends no one
to the regionals! I told him not to worry, we know what
we're doing, it's not going to get that far. Then I asked
him if he had any relatives living in the south, maybe
a cousin in North Carolina named Tony
BTW, the game went fine, nothing more than the expected
"That's a travel!" and "Three seconds!!"
