NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) - Veteran referee Joey Crawford, who annually works through the NBA Finals, suffered a torn right plantar fascia tendon in Sunday's playoff game between the New Orleans Hornets and Miami Heat.

With 1:45 left in the first quarter, Crawford, 52, pulled up lame and hobbled to the scorer's table. He remained there several minutes until a stretcher was brought out for him, although he opted to walk off the court with assistance.

There was no long-term prognosis for Crawford, who was working his fifth game of the first round.
