Team A has the ball in the backcourt when they call time out. They have 4 seconds left on the ten second count. When they throw the ball in, the referee mistakenly starts the count where she left off rather than gving them a new count, resulting in a whistle and a call of 10 seconds. Team A's coach correctly states that they should have had a new count.
Would this error be the same as an inadvertant whistle, with the ball going to the team in control, (team A), where it should be anyway? Would you tell the coaches that you have an error or an inadvertant whistle?
