Didn't happen to me, but it's true:

The assistant coach was having a bad day. Her curling iron burned her scalp in the morning, the boss yelled at her at lunch, and she left the office late, to get to her game. She was supposed to arrive by 4:00 to help with the freshmen, but didn't get out till 4. Traffic was much worse by then, so the drive took twice as long as usual, and this one woman cut right in front of her, just when she was trying to pass a line of slowpokes. She got to the gym 15 minutes before the game. JV coach wasn't pleased, since assistant was supposed to do the locker room talk today, and JV coach wasn't prepared. Assistant sat on the bench trying to get her head in the game. Assistant always stood next to the JV coach to get in the habit of the coach's meeting thing. So when the ref walked over, she stood up, but still with her eyes down, thinking about a new play they were planning on running. Ref said, "Well, the traffic was a nightmare, but we're all here, and I hope you're both ready, because I know I am!" Assistant looked up at the ref, directly into the eyes of the woman she had flipped off about a mile out of town.
