There can be a judgment call if the player is not squarely on the back, but a little more on their side where the action could be determined as a roll-and-sit-up.
Generally, a simple sit up with the ball is quite legal.

I agree 100% mick, there seem to be a lot of people (officials) in this area who think that is a travel, however.
