Pick-up Ball

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I play ball at the YMCA twice a week over my lunch break and you wouldn't believe the calls/non-calls that happen. Tomegun is correct, you have to separate the two and just try to keep playing. I am there to get some exercise, not to argue about a call.

But, there are always the times when you make a call and there is a disagreement. I will tell you, I have NEVER brought up the fact that I have been officiating for xx # of years. I figure that it is best they don't know that I am an official.

I'll give you my most recent....guy on my team drives for a layup and the ball sticks between the rim and the backboard. The other team starts heading towards their bucket with the ball when one of my teammates says, "Hey, you got the ball to start the game - this one's ours." Of course, I supported him. So, an argument starts up and I hear, "You mean, if a guy throws a brick and it stick b/w the rim and backboard you're gonna give him the ball back?"

I just said, "Only if it's his arrow, now let's get back to playing ball!"
