Sounds like you had fun. I can recall in my rookie season being asked at the last minute to call a jv game between two rivals. I didn't realize how big that game was until two years later I saw the headlines of the local paper. Both teams had won state. One in 4A and the other 5A. I had them back when I didn't know enough to know how good the play was. Don't ever think your not good enough to call a JV game at your level either. I called plenty of 4A/5A JV games that year.
One thing I do like about those games. You start off calling the game with just a handfull of parents in the stands. By the end of the game there is a packed house and if the game is any good, you have them into the game as if it were a varsity game with playoff implications.
