Question

Need a lil clarification of NFHS 4-10. As I understand it, A# cannot hold/dribble for more than 5s if being guarded by B# within 6ft.

So if A# dribbles for 3s and holds for 3s, would that be a violation OR would the count have resetted when A# picked up dribble?

Can you point me to a more clearly defined rule? i.e. casebook or elsewhere in rulebook?

Thanks
