My apologies. I was so incensed over the post, that I forgot about the time frame. However, his math is still flawed. I looked up the Cubs' record, starting in 1909, the year after their last World Series win.

They have played, including this past season, 14,816 regular season games. Their record is 7388-7428, a difference of FORTY (40) games, .499. Doesn't look as if it's the overwhelming "majority" of losses as whiskers infers. If they duplicate this season's record for the next three years, they will be over .500.

I see that whiskers is from Woodville, TX. It's northeast of Houston, a city that NEVER had even a National League Pennant Winner, much less a World Series title. Or maybe he's a Ranger's (Dallas, north of Woodville) fan, another city never appearing in a World Series.

The Cubs have won four pennants in my lifetime, including my birth year. How many have the Texas teams combined won? Could whiskers be just a little bit jealous?

Bob
