St. John’s gets a steal and a breakaway. The NI defender grabs the back of the St. John’s player’s jersey as he is nearing the basket. Only the C can see this and he correctly calls it. There is discussion about counting the goal or not as the St. John’s player made his attempt following the whistle. I m also interested in whether this should have been n F1. In HS I would have called an intentional personal foul.

I think this is a great play for discussion. I am OK with the shooting foul and nothing more. I do not think he stops anything this player is trying to do, so I am good with just calling the jersey grab. He does not take away a clear advantage, and the player makes an easy dunk and is not put in any danger.
