This is subject to who you work for or who interprets your application. I would never want to penalize a team with a technical foul and stop everything. Let the offense complete its play. But there are some that, for some reason, took this rule and just tried to be cute, instead of doing what the application where the rule came from was. In NCAA rules, we would let the play continue until possession has changed or the ball is dead.
