I was thinking the same thing, but a delayed violation isn't quite the exact same thing as a "real" violation.
We also have a delayed violation for a player who voluntarily runs out of bounds, not a "real" violation unless first to touch inbounds with an advantage.
And don't get me started on delayed technical fouls for defensive players faking being fouled regarding team control.
