For me, I would have a mental countdown clock in my head. If I got down to a pause immediatley before one second and the ball had not been released, it would not have counted. Yeah, I would be off by about a tenth of a second, but my brain isn't accurate to tenths of a second.

What I would do in maroonx's situation?

Not sure, hopefully my partner, myself, and the table could come up with some type of resolution, maybe with a truely educated estimate (which really isn't definite information)?

One thing that I do know is that there would not be a do-over.
