Observation And Mobility Committee ...

My local IAABO board’s Observation and Mobility Committee consists of twenty-three active or retired local board members who have participated on committees that support the education and training of members; have at least five years of varsity officiating experience; and must have very good communication skills and able to provide feedback.

They observe our 250 members on scheduled nights when they officiate, varsity partners, and/or subvarsity officials in the game preceding their game. If they observe on off nights, limited to three off night observations per season, they are compensated with a reduction on their annual dues ($35 per off-night observation completed, maximum $105). They must submit at least sixteen completed member observations before any off-night observations are approved for a dues deduction.

Observation and Mobility Committee members that submit at least sixteen completed member observations will participate in two important meetings. One is to determine eligibility for post season State tournament games. The other is to determine varsity or subvarsity status for the following year.

Feedback can be provided to observed officials immediately that night, or at a later date.
