A player is allowed to change numbers because of blood, or in the case of a libero redesignation. Since this was between sets AND since the original L changed to a regular jersey (I assume, to play)....

We seem to be having similar issues -- I was working a D-3 JV "match" (in quoted s because it doesn't count in any standings, etc -- just a chance to get more kids some court time before the regular match) when one team started a set with #14 as the L, then the regular player came back in and the L#21 came in.

I pointed at the new Land showed the letter L with my fingers to the coach with a questioning look on my face -- he kind of raised his hands as if to say "it's only JV" -- I laughed and let it go. I was really just being sure the opposing coach saw the change and didn't care.
