I believe that you are correct. I will search for a reference for this, but I believe that anything that a player wears as well as that individual’s hair is part of that player. Consider a foul for holding an opponent’s jersey or shorts. There is no physical contact with the opponent’s body, yet that is clearly illegal. I believe that glasses are treated the same way.
It seems to me that the past interps archive is the best source for such a ruling. I recall one situation from about 16 years ago noting that a player is out of bounds if only his hair touches out.
