This are the two associations that cover Detroit. If you click on Wayne County under "County Listings for All Zones", you will find associations that cover the suburbs. This should give you a good place to start.

As far as IAABO, you can continue as an individual member by contacting the IAABO office. You will still be able to receive IAABO training materials and remain in good standing if you happen to move back to somewhere with an IAABO presence.

MaroonX:

There are no IAABO Boards in the State of Michigan and IAABO membership is not required. Billy has given you the specific page for Officials on the MichiganHSAA website: MHSAA.com.

The New Official Registration Form can be completed: a) online:
https://my.mhsaa.com/Officials/Begin...on/NewOff/true or b) mail-in: https://my.mhsaa.com/Portals/0/Docum...erj2o0OQ%3d%3d

Since you are transferring from another State there is a Transfer Official Information form which must be completed which can be found on https://www.mhsaa.com/officials/offi...n-information; this is a Word Document which part of is completed by you and part which must be completed the MarylandPSSAA. This form may or may not be of any use to you. In order for the MichiganHSAA to grant you Transfer Status you must already have the highest level officiating status in the MarylandPSSAA; you can find more information at the bottom of Page 8 of the 2022-23 MichiganHSAA Officials Guidebook at https://www.mhsaa.com/sites/default/...6/offguide.pdf.

If you do not have an Arbiter account be prepared to get one; if you do, that is the email which you should use in your registration application. All assignments are done by Arbiter in the MichiganHSAA.

I do not know what shirts are worn in the MarylandPSSAA but be prepared to buy new shirts and a new jacket.

As a long time member of IAABO I second ilyazhito in keeping your IAABO Membership; in fact, I would advise that you always maintain IAABO Membership even in non-IAABO States for reasons on which I have "pontificated" many times here in the Forum, LOL, but also for the IAABO Insurance and if you are not a NASO Member I would recommend becoming a NASO Member of the same reasons I recommend being an IAABO Member. I do not think that the MichiganHSAA is a 100% NFIOA Membership State like the OhioHSAA is.

Finally, tell Al Battista I said hello, we go way back.
