NJIT-Vermont Ending

https://youtu.be/UeAdv_mzLrU

There was a crazy finish in yesterday's NJIT-Vermont game. I've seen a few fans wonder why a travel wasn't called when the player slid to the ground.

As I understand it, the dribble did not technically end until the ball was pinned against his body. By that point, his feet had stopped sliding, so there was no traveling violation.

Is my interpretation of the rules correct?

Also of note, the game clock appears to have started a little late on the inbounds pass. Was there anything the officials could do about that on replay?
