Ohhh the incongruity . . .

This is the result of trying individualise punishments based on actions and context.

Where a player wildly throwing kicks and punches, and lifting a chair is out indefinitely and may never play collegiate basketball again. While a player who bites another gets 1 game and everyone debates the merits and length of each.

I really think schools and the NCAA should just create a blanket policy for violence/behaviour unbecoming and just have a series of escalating consequences. First time offender 5 games, 2nd time Season, 3rd time NCAA career.

Don't throw punches, don't threaten people with chairs, don't bite people, don't abuse other people etc.

Now we would still debate lines and what falls under and doesn't but sports convo wouldn't be about how many games, how aggregious, etc. Players, coaches and schools would know. Anything under X = Y.
