This is HS Basketball related...but not on court rules....I'd just like to say that the IHSAA has COMPLETELY F'd their handling of this matter!
I don't have a horse in the race...I'm familiar with the school...and here I thought it was supposed to be about the kids....This isn't college (and even then, I think the institution pays the price when the coach walks free, damn near!)
The Varsity Head Coach pays tuition for a kid from Congo, Africa (mind you it's a public school not a private school) but there must be some out of district rule that says you have to pay if you want to attend there and don't live within the boundaries... So, Coach get's 2 game suspension while the basketball program is prohibited from playing in this years state tournament!
Why are the kids in the program being punished?
Suspend the coach for the year, make the kid who was the subject of the payment ineligible (I guess?) and let the team go about their season for crying out loud! You have Seniors on that team that have worked their butts off to have the right to compete this year....is this THEIR fault?
What about the damn A.D...where is he at in all this?
The damn adults have failed the kids here....it's a shame.
