Proud Papa!
This is first year that Mark, Jr., was asked to provide his availability for the NCAA Softball Championship. He did not expect an assignment in his first year but being told to provide his availability was a step forward. None-the-less, this past weekend he umpired in the SUNYAC (NCAA Div. III) tournament and was on the Plate for the championship on Saturday.
This morning he recieved both the email from Arbiter and the phone call from Craig Hyde, NCAA Coordinator of Softball Umpires, telling him that he had received a Div. III Regional this weekend at Thomas More University in Kentucky.
44 years after I officiated in my first AIAW Women's Basketball Regional the circle is now complete officiating wise.
