I see that this could be a financial problem for a full schedule college official that gets injured early in the season and misses his assignments for the rest of the season.
IAABO insurance offered through the Borden Perlman Insurance Agency is also limited to $50.00 per game, with a $2,000.00 maximum payout (our varsity fee is $97.17).
It's still a bargain for $7.00 a year, especially the $5,000,000.00 liability insurance.
The medical and dental insurance is great for those officials who may not have medical insurance.
The $10,000.00 accidental death benefit is great for those officials who may not have life insurance. It will help the family pay for an unexpected funeral.
Imagine I have no medical insurance or life insurance, a fight breaks out in my first game of the season, somebody believes that I'm negligent in some slight manner, while moving toward the scorer's table to report the technical fouls for the fight, I accidentally trip over my own loose shoelace and hit my head on the table, I'm hooked up to respirator in a hospital for a month, and I eventually die. Seven bucks is a bargain for my family.
Note: I do not work for the Borden Perlman Insurance Agency, nor do any members of my immediate family, nor do I portray an insurance agent on television.
This is not me:
