A hearty me-too from me. I also prefer the LJ over the U in 3-man games.
The referee just has to have his eyes in two places and also be the ball spotter. Having the LJ puts two sets of eyes on the line, gives a more natural punt coverage and also gives better coverage on running plays heading in that direction.
People shouldn't assume that one mechanics manual defines the right and only way to work something.
