My source was a book on the Duke/UNC rivalry and Smith asked Pavia quite a few times before the famous heave ho.
And what a Saturday that was. MAybe one of the more memorable Semi FInal sessions. And in aside I know its old do you call that foul on the UNLV player that sent Duke to the foul line for the GW free throws. You can find the game on you tube.
