Vid request: Wash vs OSU - ending - did official's help OSU win?

2OT with about 10 seconds remaining, tie game, neither team has any TOs. OSU goes length of court and player makes a 3 and clock displays .1 seconds. Several OSU players, and I think a few crowd members, storm or at least enter, the court. Official, appearing to see OSU players enter the court, emphatically blows whistle. He goes to table to review amount of time on clock. After review, clock is set to .3 seconds. Wash inbounds, ball is deflected, and game is over.

Now, had Wash inbounded after the made OSU 3, there would have been a T called for extra players on court right? (although only one shot given). If ref truly wanted to review time on clock, why did he wait to blow his whistle?

Am I misunderstanding?
