I had this exact brain fart happen to me in a 7th grade boys game last month.

A1 receives the ball from my partner for the first of two free throws. After he receives the ball, A2 decides to stroll into an unoccupied lane space. I signalled a delayed violation instead of killing play immediately.

After A1 shoots and makes the try, my partner asked me "Was that violation on A?" The light bulb turns on and I immediately cancel the try and call the violation all while thinking, "How could I have kicked that?"
