The key paragraph from the article IMO:
"Warner said the MPSSAA would have immediately approved a waiver for Hayes’s hijab, and added that it was a “disservice” that no referees had alerted Watkins Mill of the rule during the regular season."
Not saying the coach and school shouldn't have known, but I'm disappointed that apparently, not ONE official stepped up during the entire season to say something.
