Areas using officials as line judges

How many high school officials associations use officials as line judges during the regular season?

Here in NC, for public schools we use volunteer line judges. typically varsity plaers for JV and JV players for varsity.

The Christian school conference started this year requiring certified referees to be used as line judges but allows the schools to choose to not hire line judges. Result is no line judges, just work the matches with R1 & R2. Interestingly, this is only for conference varsity matches, so for JV and non conference matches, we get volunteer line judges.

Line judges are paid here (not a lot), but they are typically teachers at the home school.

Most of them take it very seriously and work every home match at that school.

Here we have one entire league of public schools that we cover lines for varsity only along with 2 additional schools (1 public and 1 private). It gives the newer officials a chance to work some really high level ball and pick our better official's brains. This is my second year and I did my first deciding set match as a line judge yesterday.
