I wish. There's nothing in my area until the preseason scrimmages which begin in four weeks or less. I'm working on being ready. I sat in on the newbies training class last night. They were learning basic signals and mechanics. I picked up some good tips.

That's unfortunate-We have a few summer leagues who ask our association to come in and officiate. Our group uses it for observation and training.Every official is videotaped and observed as the R1 and R2 and given items to work on.At the end of the observation sheet for R1's is a single question-"Is this official capable of working a sub-varsity match by themselves?" Those who get yes's on observations along with passing the rules test handle matches in the fall.Ratings are conducted by the C1 and C2 rated officials who work as mentors at each site.New officials are rated during these camp days also and are expected to meet the same requirements as returning officials to gain a schedule.

Here are our classifications and ratings.

The local rec department runs a Tuesday league from June through the last Tuesday in July.

Not much for officials training though as we work as we work by ourselves and keep the score on a flip scoreboard as well. Teams range from incoming Freshman to Varsity level.
