Postseason Play Starting

Hello everybody,
I was wondering when your postseason play gets started? Here our regular season ends Wednesday-I have matches for the next three days in a row (varsity R2,jv R2,varsity line judge) then everyone waits for playoffs.

*Wildcard pairings if necessary for the division come out Friday @ 12pm if the division uses a 32 team draw
*Wildcard matches if necessary are Saturday @ 7pm if the division uses a 32 team draw or Tuesday @ 7pm if the division employs a 16 team draw
*Main draw released Saturday @ 12pm & every half hour till all divisions are served.

32 Team Draw-
First Round is 11/12/13
Second Round is 11/14/13
Quarterfinals are 11/16/13
Semifinals are 11/19/13
Championship Round is 11/22/13 and 11/23/13

16 Team Draw-
First Round are 11/14/13
Quarterfinals are 11/16/13
Semifinals are 11/19/13
Championship Round is 11/22/13 and 11/23/13

Here we have a committee that rates officials as tier 1 and tier 2.I was rated tier 2 which means I could possibly be used as a line judge or emergency R2 depending on how many matches as an area we have to cover.
Good luck everybody & have fun out there :D :D :D

Here in Tennessee,

the season was already over as of that post (October 24th was state finals day).

Wow when do you start the regular season Silverpie? we don't start till the end of August here. The crew I'm on tomorrow night has our association president as R1.Here's a question for all of you-are officials as line judges mandatory where you work for playoff matches? Here the schools have the option to request line judges from our association or use whomever they wish.We have 22 schools home and only 3 requested.

In Pennsylvania, we started our season on Labor Day Weekend, and State finals are this Saturday. As for the use of line judges, they are assigned for all play-off rounds. The assignments are determined by administration for the specific round --i.e. League Administration for local, District Administration for sectionals, and State Administration for state playoffs.

That was a lot of fun-let's see we penalized the V coach for turning in her lineup late, had a yellow card on the H bench #15,and enough close line calls to wear out even the most experienced collegiate line judge.Next round Thursday-waiting for assignment.

First practice date in TN is the last Monday in July; first contest is the third Monday in August; and the deadline for completing district tournaments (equiv. of CA's league tournaments) is the second Friday in October.

Congrats on your assignments. I worked 2 assignments as a LJ a week ago. Only the big dogs worked last week. Now, the really big dogs will be working this week (the state finals). I, however, will be in the house working as a ball retriever. A representative of each school playing has been tasked with doing this, and not doing very well. So now my board will be providing this service. I'm looking forward to working and watching up close and personal.

Thanks LCubed- that was the most fun I've had on a volleyball court all season.Behind a packed crowd Home team (seeded #9) knocked off the division's #2 seed in 4 sets. Our area will get (as of right now) 3 semifinal matches. We are waiting for a couple results.Hopefully I get one of those line judge slots.
Assignments for R1/R2 fall under the direct control of CIF-SS and are from associations who have not worked the competing schools. The line judges are from the host school's area.
