Switch ends in the final set/game?

NFHS rules, do the teams switch courts at 8 in a final set (3 of 3 or 5 of 5)?

No

NFHS rules do not mandate a switch of courts in a final game of a match, however, I believe that this can be a state option.

I could be wrong, but it seems I have heard this before.

We usually have the coin toss for final game (if needed) winner gets to choose whether to serve/receive or which court to play. Opposing team gets other choice.

So if I understand correctly, the choices for the first toss are serve or receive, since the home team gets to pick its bench. But at the coin toss before a tie-breaker, the choices are serve, receive, or court?

That's it, although I would have written the latter choice as "serve/receive or court." [/quibble] ;)

Correct, and the home team captain will call the coin toss.

Funny story:

Game five of a very close match. Both captains come to the stand for the final coin toss. Coach from the home team is calling out "We want side!" I realize that both captains are exhausted and excited so I again review their 3 choices should they win the toss, "serve, receive, or side". I ask to captain to call the toss in the air and flip the coin high in the air. The captain calls out really loudly so all can hear, "side!".:p

Is this an NFHS mechanic? As I've said before, I only use NCAA rules/mechanics and we had the R2 conduct the coin toss at the table for a deciding game.

If I understand NFHS mechanics (and that's a very tentative "if") the R can either conduct it or delegate it. I believe the manual says to do it at the R's stand. Though my R yesterday said to do it at center court, or if I preferred I (the U) could do it at the post on my side. In either case I was to signal the results to her, and she would relay the info to the benches.

If it were football, and you let the coin fall to the grass, she could've been right :D
