Ok, was watching a match last night and server was coming near line judge. The officials had the line judges back up to get out of servers periferial vision in line with the side line. I had always told them to back up either at an angle to the corner or in line with the end line to look for a foot fault. I see the thinking in both, foot fault is important, but if you can't see the side line who will call a shot right on the line?? Where do you have your line judges go to get out of the way on a left corner server??

If the server comes withing 6 feet of the linejudge, they should move back behind the server and maintain their focus on the sideline.

It is much easier for you to see a foot fault, but very difficult to see a shot on the far sideline.

Thanks, that does make sense. I can see the foot but they have to be able to see the line!
