Shoe Recommendations

My high school girls season came to an end Friday. I purchased a new white shirt along with both the gray and blue option for next year. My New Balance court shoes have lasted me ten years. They still look good when I put a shine on them, but are not very comfortable anymore.

These Smitty shoes look okay, but I'm not thrilled with what appears to be suede-like material around the eyelets. https://www.ump-attire.com/Products/...-Referee-Shoes

The 3N2 VX1 looks nice, but I'm not sure about patent leather for volleyball. https://honigs.com/products/3n2-reac...r-shoe-d-width

I know shoes are not as big of an issue for volleyball officials as compared to those in other sports, but I would appreciate any recommendations you might have.

most seem to be going with a fabric upper, as opposed to a leather upper. Something like this (just picked at random; not a recommendation) https://www.brooksrunning.com/en_us/...0393_color=121

I love, love, LOVE my HOKA One shoes. A good running store will take your foot measurements and find a good shoe that works best for your foot needs.

I use a Hoka Bondi and a Brooks Ghost. I like both. Both are light on weight, but the Hoka has more cushioning, IMO. Get a proper fit, and not just someone who's wanting to seek you a pair of shoes.

In case anybody is replacing their shoes at the end of the season, I've been using these for the last 6 months, and I really like them. Very comfortable for my wide feet.

Hoka and Brooks are my current choices as well. As I got older, I can no longer get whatever white shoes are on sale at the foot locker and be ok. Old injuries and whatnot made sure of that, I guess.

I like the Hokas for everything except a very particular situation - some stands are very slightly tilted forward (I don’t recall any being tilted the other way) and with these, and mind you - only sometimes I get some discomfort for my toes. Exaggerated cushion comfort (will see for how long), at the expense of somewhat less overall support.

The Brooks are not as soft, but with more structural support.
