How far do you go when you KNOW you're right?

I'm R1 in this situation. Match goes to a 5th set. To start the set, the setters for both teams are in the same rotation. The team on my left serves and loses the rally making the score 8-5, and the teams switch sides. Then there is a long delay at the table. When the R2 gives the court back to me, the serving team (now on my left) is in Rotation 1 and the receiving team is in Rotation 2.

This means that at the next "side out", one setter will be in Rotation 1 and the other setter will be in Rotation 3. This CANNOT be correct.

So at the risk of prolonging the delay in resuming the set, I call the R2 over and I tell him my concern. He's a good ref, at least as good as I am. He tells me that the previous rally (just prior to switching sides) was an incorrect server and he put them in the correct serving order after they switched sides.

To be completely honest, I didn't notice if the server was incorrect. But even so, I know the players on my right are not in the correct rotation. R2 assures me it's correct. When I reiterate that they were in the same rotation, he says "But that can change". No, it can't!!

But I couldn't convince him that there's a problem. What else could/should I have done in this situation? If it had been 23-10 in the 3rd set of a sweep, I would just say, "Whatever. Let's just finish up". But this is a deciding set and it's still close.
