Center line violations

Interested in the USAV ruling. I understand that a hand or foot may be completely across the center line and touching the opponent's side of the court, provided that there is no safety concern. However, my understanding was that if any body part OTHER THAN a hand or foot contacted the opponent's side of the court, it was a fault. Safety was not a consideration.

This past weekend, I was told that my understanding was incorrect. You can be sitting with your butt completely on the opponent's court, and it's not a fault unless there's a safety hazard.

Can somebody set me straight?
