Ref asking for help?

New to the sport, however in baseball, softball, football, the refs can ask each other for help.

A spike was hammered on the line (in bounds). The up ref called out, but the down ref( who was right next to the ball) called in. Instead of conferring and getting the correct call, they called a replay.

Is that the normal flow for volleyball? If the refs disagree, just replay the point? Even if one ref clearly saw the play?

The call is up to the "up referee." He can consider input from R2 and the line judges. How much help R2 gives, and when, varies a bit by location and specific preference of the officials (especially R1). And, sometimes, the official across the court has a better view than the official who is (too) close to the ball.

The call belongs to the first referee. Either he/she takes the second referee's information and goes with that call, or stick with the original decision. Replay should not be an option here. Line judges, if used, should also be giving information here.
