Discus - use of grip aides

Hello,

I've a question, I looked through the NFHS rulebook regarding the use of grip aides in the throwing events and it states (paraphrased) that a thrower may use adhesives and substances like rosin bags, on their hands, when using their own equipment.

So is my interpretation of this meaning as long as nothing is applied to the implement directly then anything goes. For example may a thrower use pine tar, or other similiar substances.

I've searched for a ruling on this through various forums and online postings and cann't find anything that goes into more detail then what is provided in the rulebook.

Just curious as the weather has been lousy lately and am curious what is and isn't legal in this area.

Thanks
