ISF Contradiction in Fair/Foul definition

So unless I'm reading this wrong--do these definitions contradict one-another?

ISF Rules

1.29.b
A fair ball is a legally batted ball which bounds past first or third base on or over fair territory, regardless of where the ball hits after going over the base.

1.37.c
A foul ball is a legally batted ball which first touches on foul territory beyound first or third base.

So what one is saying is a ball that sails on the fly over third base in fair territory but lands in foul territory is both fair and foul?

The definition of bounds is a leaping motion upwards. Probably not the best choice of words for the rule but I would take it to mean a ball that has hit the ground and bounces over the base, not a fly ball.

Yes, "bounds" is the crucial word.

It is the perfect choice of words to use for the rule.

In simpler terms, for a ball to "bound" past first or third base, it has had to already touched the ground prior to the base. In the definition of a foul ball, it states that the first time the ball touches the ground is beyond the base.

No contradiction
