Worth bat
Anyone see a problem with this bat (Shop.WorthSports.com // ēLegit? 4 Piece Double Barrel Fastpitch Bat (-10) The small disk shaped piece that is at the beginning of the taper was a bone of contention for a partner of mine. He said it was an attachment; I said it was on the bat when it was sold, not an after purchase "attachment". Also it came loose and moved an inch or two but it wasn't capable of coming off; it was a solid ring. Any thoughts? Utrip fastpitch tourney by the way.

How is it an attachment if the bat was manufactured that way?

Bat had new Utrip stamp and as stated in original post I didn't see the ring as an attachment, although I assume it's pressence on the bat was to achieve the same effect. The gist of my question was the fact that it came loose and moved 2-3 inches during an at bat. Does anyone feel that it then became illegal?

I'm not exactly sure of the purpose of this ring on the top of the handle. I saw two bats during a pre-game inspection with the same thing. But there is nothing in the rules that require the handle to be free of manufacturing quirks like this. It only needs to be round or oval in cross section, and have a legal grip. |
I do not see anything I would call a 'disc' on the picture. If you are talking about the orange ring, it is to hold the handle wrap in place. If it becomes loose it make it like any other bat without it, and could very easily be cut off without altering the bat. If you are talking about the Black tapered cone, if it becomes loose I would toss the bat.
