Joy

Today was my first game for 2014. I think I shined my shoes three times the day before. I starched my pants, ironed my shirt and donned my new hat. While dressing at the field I got those same old butterflies in my stomach. I have read and read the rules and I know my game but I am still learning. The butterflies were just a reminder that the games is coming.

After the pre game meeting at home we were set to play. I cleaned the plate and before lowering my mask I have to admit that I stood there a few seconds and took it in again. I thought where else would I rather be right now. A sense of joy came over me. No wax on wax off moment but a feeling that this is the best seat in the house to see a game.

Down goes the mask and a loud play ball. Man, this stuff is fun.

I'm glad for you and envious, having spent several hours the past two days with my snow thrower and expect the same tomorrow. :(

I hear you, we haven't had the new snow recently, but my front lawn had 15-20 on the ground I would guess. At least a warm up is coming, meaning that we can start to have flooding issues. I get the field HS season will be really interesting for the assignors this spring. They deserve it after what the winter sport assignors had to deal with (including myself). :)
