Is anyone from the board going to The Netherlands to the indoor cup?

Enjoy yourself over there, Pat.
I'm planning on going in 2014.
I've met most who are going over with you, Pat.
Bob Allen - if the same one - was there for the first 2 times I went.
Ask Eddie if he's got any of that special drink of his.
And tell them all I said "hi".
I understand Francine will be in Philly in February.
Pam & I are hoping to spend some time with her that week.

Sander - is your boy still playing rugby? Isn't he about 12-13 now?

Yep, he is. Altough... not this week; at training he got tackled and fell the wrong way on the grass. Now he's hurt his leg.
He will be 11 in April. But I can't get him to play softball (or small-ball):(
This rugby-season I'm a refee not only in U9, but also at his team U11. Helping also in coaching and training with the U9-team...

Sander,
It was a pleasure meeting you and talking with you, too bad we didn't call together.

Basketball is my primary sport (42 years) and I have only been umpiring baseball and fast pitch softball for 21 years, but this thread is what sports officiating is all about: Making friends in our avocation all over the USA and the world. To all who are traveling to this tournament: Please have a safe trip and lots of fun.

Thanks, Mark, I did! Got back yesterday. I made some new friends and saw some old ones. This really is what I love most about our avocation!

Patrick,
I always enjoy meeting old and new friends at the Cup. So the pleasure was mine! Maybe, God willing, we will have the honour to be in a tournament together, some day.
How was Paris?

So true! I travel around Europe for the ESF every summer and try to visit the Cup every time in the winter. Just to be together as umpires in a group, having fun, share the games together, helping each other getting a better umpire. It an extra for me. The games in competition are great, but then we work just together (2 umpire system) and see no one else...

Cold and wet! But we made the most of it. Got some great pics from the Eiffel Tower of a snow covered Paris. I went in '11 and had limited funds then. I actually had more fun when I was broke!
